Description
Perform civil design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion under the direction of a licensed professional engineer. Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects within the public and private utilities, and transmission systems industry. Design civil components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers. Applies strong knowledge of commonly used civil engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the civil engineering services industry. Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software. Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for the design of power facilities and design packages. Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel up to 25% of the time is required based on project needs. Multiple positions available.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus seven (7) years of transmission engineering experience. Alternatively, the employer will also accept a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus six (6) years of civil engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus seven (7) years of described experience.
Must have six (6) years of experience in each of the following:
Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel up to 25% of the time is required based on project needs.

- Standard transmission engineering techniques and procedures.
- Software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Software knowledge of PLS-Tower, PLS-Pole and PLS-CADD.
- Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
- Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members.
