Perficient has a career opportunity for a Technical Product Owner to join our Custom Product Development business unit. The Technical Product Owner will have complete responsibility for the day-to-day management of the engagement, including all aspects related to managing a development team, resulting in a successful delivery and a satisfied, reference-able client.

The Technical Product Owner role will be a hybrid role in Plano, TX. They will focus on driving the development and innovation of an internal developer platform for our client. They will lead client interactions with Product Managers and business stakeholders, understanding both client business requirements as well as end-user functional requirements, and may manage multiple product owners that have delivery targeted towards a single product or solution. In situations where a Technical Product Owner is supporting multiple delivery streams, that person has sole responsibility and ownership of the product in its entirety.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the entire product lifecycle from vision and strategy through design, development, release, and iteration, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and cross-domain stakeholders to gather technical requirements and prioritize features that optimize developer productivity and platform scalability.
  • Lead roadmap and backlog refinement by applying agile methodologies, ensuring timely delivery of high-value features that meet both technical and business objectives.
  • Champion best practices in software development, cloud-native architecture, and automation, driving improvements across the development ecosystem.
  • Establish clear metrics to track product performance and demonstrate business value, continuously improving developer experience and ROI.
  • Effectively communicate product vision and progress to technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership, translating complex technical concepts into business impact.
  • Foster strong vendor and partner relationships, ensuring successful delivery of key platform capabilities and integrations.
  • Write robust user stories that show your understanding of the product, the technical limitations, personas and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop deep knowledge of users, formulating hypotheses & advocating product direction and roadmap.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for your product; including awareness of the related technology stack and how the market and our customers use and extract business value from your product(s).
  • Assess risks and benefits of product enhancements and gain alignment with stakeholders, clients, and product managers.
  • Analyze product metrics and define continuous improvement initiatives to increase the Product's business value.
  • Introduce new approaches and tool sets that will allow the product development team to better understand the solution criteria and requirements.


Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in technology implementations, product management, and technical leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex products in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies and modern software development practices, with a strong ability to solve technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, able to articulate technical and business concepts across diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of product management experience with a focus on technical platforms, and 5+ years of people management experience.
  • Concrete understanding of writing high quality user stories.
  • Ability to define high-level business objectives and drive product roadmaps.
  • Comfort engaging with executive stakeholders in dialogue regarding product vision and business enablement.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Wide variety of technical knowledge of various systems (technology).
  • Experience with identifying and reporting on key performance indicators to help visualize efficacy of product enhancements.

Nice to haves:
  • Certification - Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) is a plus.
  • Experience with detailed road mapping techniques 3+ years of experience building and scaling horizontal platforms or cloud-native applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in architecting large-scale, mission-critical cloud solutions for enterprises.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $64,974 to $149,880. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
