American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the Global leader in the Commercial Payments Solutions space and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business. To maintain this success, the organization must accelerate sales and drive profitable charge volume growth. The Global Sales Enablement, Pricing & Transformation (SPT) team within GCS is instrumental in ensuring achievement of these objectives. The Senior Manager - Expense Management Performance Insights within SPT is an opportunity to be part of this dynamic organization and help GCS navigate towards growth.

This position reports to the Director of US Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) B2B Sales & Solutions, supporting the B2B Sales & Solutions Team. This position will work collaboratively with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Technologies and Capabilities partners to create data, critical metrics, and scalable reporting for a newly built Expense Management solution. Once reporting infrastructure is established this role will deliver strategic analyses & insights on Expense Management performance, helping craft the Go-To-Market strategy with both Product and Sales teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building a deep understanding of customer and product data to drive business performance. They will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and will have experience leading analytical projects. This person should be as comfortable writing sophisticated queries as they are presenting the resulting insights to senior leadership in a concise, easy to understand manner.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Establish yourself as the go-to expert on Expense Management product data and performance
  • Provide analytical input to decisions and evaluation of Expense Management feature performance and campaign effectiveness
  • Have a deep analytical mind and work with agility, being able to change course quickly to take advantage of innovative ways of finding solutions
  • Define product-specific goals and critical metrics as well as indicators of success for product initiatives/enhancements
  • Evaluate progress towards achieving set goals and provide accountability by leading regular reviews of performance
  • Define and deliver effective, scalable reporting that provides accurate and timely insight into key product metrics and trends
  • Prioritize demands for data, ad hoc analytics, and reporting from multiple partners, shifting focus to ensure alignment with business priorities
  • Build positive relationships with key collaborators and partners
  • Analytical Skills: Able to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions
  • Flexibility/Adaptability: Not thrown off by frequently changing priorities and conditions; copes effectively with complexity and change

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience including extensive experience in hands-on analytical role(s) defining and tracking key business metrics and performing deep-dive analyses
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, engineering, math, science, economics, etc). Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Strategic, big-picture thinker with strong intuition for business and high degree of creativity in finding opportunities for products, services, new processes, and systems
  • Demonstrated experience building sustainable data assets using cloud-based analytical tools, querying languages, and visualization software (e.g., SQL, Python, Databricks, Tableau)
  • Strong project management skills with proven record of successfully getting results on large-scale cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong curiosity and initiative in tackling important assignments; dives deeply into the data, relentlessly pursues its meaning, and how insights can drive business performance
  • Relationship-builder with strong consultative and relationship skills to partner with business leaders to devise solutions to complex business challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and analytics-driven findings to non-technical stakeholders, and to explain business processes, concepts, and issues to technical resources
  • Be an agent of change, ability to initiate and adopt change. Provides solutions to address changes in the organization, strategic alignment, and technology implementation. Incorporate risk mitigation into planning and execution


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Deep knowledge of Commercial Card data and reporting and AXP systems and tools


Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
