At NYT Games, we aim to be the premier destination for digital puzzle games, and we publish human-made puzzles daily, including beloved games like Wordle, Spelling Bee, Connections, and the New York Times Crossword. Our games are played by tens of millions each week.

Critical to the success of our gaming products is continued evolution of the pathways users take to become Games subscribers. NYT Games is looking for a Product Manager II to oversee and evolve the user journey. You will partner with data, engineering, and design to build features and capabilities that help the Games team meet their goals.

This is a hybrid role based in our NYC Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

As a Product Manager II on the Games team, you will create and refine features, systems, and capabilities that improve the end-to-end, user acquisition funnel.
  • Lead the Games team's efforts to improve how we communicate with players to acquire new users and subscribers across the Games portfolio.
  • Create the product roadmap. Establish priorities for the product roadmap by taking into account customer requirements, business impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Develop concise and detailed specifications to guide product development and ensure understanding and agreement across teams.
  • Craft testable hypotheses for both quantitative and qualitative validation.
  • Monitor product performance. Partner with user researchers and data analysts to identify insights and translate them into relevant product improvements.
  • Balance longer term strategy with getting features out the door.
  • Communicate proactively, providing regular updates on performance and project updates, presenting insights, and offering strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
  • This role reports to the Product Director, Games

Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience with Agile product development.
  • Experience with experimentation and A/B testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience working in a growth or customer acquisition role.
  • Experience conducting and using customer research, market data and product analytics to make hard prioritization decisions.
  • Familiarity with native development and app ecosystems, including app store optimization.

The annual base pay range for this role is between $116,000.00 and $140,000.00.
