We are seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Site Lead to oversee a large-scale data annotation operation in support of advanced AI/ML model development. This role is central to delivering high-quality, high-volume training datasets tailored for computer vision and geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) applications.
As Site Lead, you will supervise between 100-250 data annotation specialists, coordinating production activities across structured pods that include analysts, data specialists, QC engineers, trainers, and tiered reviewers. You will drive operational excellence in annotation job design, production management, quality control, and dataset delivery, while ensuring continuous alignment with customer goals and national security priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Annotation Design & Execution
Develop and implement annotation job strategies aligned with programmatic objectives and customer requirements
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and manage a multidisciplinary team, fostering high morale and a culture of operational excellence
Production Oversight
Monitor throughput, labor utilization, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective dataset production
Quality Control & Compliance
Implement multi-tiered quality assurance protocols to maintain data integrity, labeling accuracy, and compliance with federal and agency standards
Customer Engagement
Serve as the primary liaison with customers, incorporating feedback to adapt and enhance annotation workflows and delivery plans
Reporting & Metrics
Track and report on key performance indicators, including cost-per-label, time-to-production, and annotation accuracy
Strategic Support
Contribute to solutioning, capture, and business development activities that expand and evolve the data annotation mission

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Engineering, or a related technical or scientific discipline (additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree)
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in geospatial analysis, intelligence operations, data production, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale production teams and managing operational delivery within a technical or data-intensive environment
- TS/SCI
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Geography, Engineering, or a related field
- Prior experience delivering on government contracts, especially for NGA or IC/DoD missions
- Proven ability to lead organizational scaling efforts under dynamic mission conditions
- Familiarity with human-in-the-loop (HITL) systems, annotation platforms, and quality review pipeline
Work Environment & Travel:
- This role is based in the National Capital Region with potential site visits to Springfield, VA, St. Louis, MO, and other program locations
- Telework is permitted subject to supervisor approval and dependent on tasking and program needs
- Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required to support program delivery and coordination across multiple government and contractor locations
