New Jersey's academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Director of Finance for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Director of Finance EBCHC is a key member of the EBCHC leadership team. Under the direction of the Executive Director, Associate Dean for Community Health, and in collaboration with the Director of Financial Operations of Rutgers RWJMS, the Director of Finance EBCHC is responsible for directing, managing, administering, and coordinating fiscal activities and staff of the Finance Department. Responsibilities include budgeting, financial statement preparation, planning, reporting, and auditing functions of EBCHC.

The Director of Finance EBCHC is a key member of the EBCHC leadership team. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Directs the Finance Department of EBCHC, which covers the budgeting, reporting, and auditing functions. Oversees management, recruitment, training and evaluations of the Finance Department staff.
- Responsible for the development, preparation, presentation, financial system input (Hyperion) and monitoring of the annual budgets of the Health Center. Presentations include presentations to the health center community board and Dean of RWJMS.
- Responsible for the monthly production, review, analysis, and presentation of the health center financial statement to the Executive Director, Community Board and Finance Committee, RWJMS, health center leadership team and staff.
- Develops and prepares financial analysis reports to support financial analysis needs of the health center and RWJMS.
- Responsible for and assists the Director of Financial Operations (RWJMS) with general accounting related requests from Rutgers and RBHS finance offices.
- Maintains financial records and ensures compliance with standard accounting practices and all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Responsible for the management of accounting and financial operations to safeguard assets, cash, and banking activities of the center.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a business-related discipline.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of professional fiscal management experience, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center environment, including four (4) years in a financial leadership role.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of and experience with financial and administrative systems (financial information systems, purchasing, payroll and human resources).
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party billing procedures.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Demonstrated elevated level of critical thinking skills and the ability to resolve complex problems requiring the application of technical principals and experienced based knowledge. Demonstrated considerable independent judgement to analyze problems and develop plans of remediation.
- Demonstrated advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop clear and concise financial reports as well as policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to present complicated financial information to the Community Board in a clear and understandable fashion, orient and train employees, as well as represent the Health Center externally, as needed.
- Requires working with computer equipment, office machines, and financial records.
- Demonstrated capability of handling confidential and sensitive material and interactions.
- Outstanding human relations skills, and the ability to function in a team environment required.

- Master's degree.
