Position Summary
A reliable, well-structured materials management function is essential to consistent pharmaceutical production and supply. The Manager, Materials leads planning and coordination across production, procurement, and supply chain to ensure materials are available when needed, while also owning the enterprise-wide Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and driving Materials Requirements Planning (MRP). Success in this role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and deep expertise in aligning supply with demand through effective planning practices.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads the enterprise-wide S&OP process, aligning forecasts, production plans, and material availability through artificial intelligence (AI)-driven modeling and performance insights.
• Owns and manages the MRP system and item master data within enterprise resource planning platforms, ensuring planning accuracy through AI-assisted demand signals, lead times, and safety stock recommendations.
• Oversees production planning activities such as capacity planning, material allocation, and work order scheduling with a focus on data integrity, responsiveness, and effective cross-functional communication.
• Collaborates with production, procurement, quality, and supply chain teams to coordinate material flow, mitigate shortages, and support continuous manufacturing operations through real-time data and alignment.
• Resolves material-related issues impacting production and customer deliveries using root cause analysis, trend identification, and AI-enhanced tracking to enable proactive risk mitigation.

• Proficiency in S&OP, MRP systems, and enterprise resource planning platforms, with demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making-adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.

Experience and Qualifications

• Requires 10 years of experience in operations, including planning, S&OP, warehousing, and distribution, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in operations, Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or in the life sciences.
• Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS) certification preferred. Certified in Production and Inventory Management preferred; Lean Six Sigma certification preferred; Certified Supply Chain Professional preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making-adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
