Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct and coordinate the various functions of the manufacturing department and implement the relevant policies and procedures of the Company.

DUTIES:

Daily Functions:
  • Insure proper housekeeping.
  • Insure that employees comply with OC quality program.
  • Approve all scrap tickets.
  • Implement scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Work with Production Control to insure that shop orders are completed on time & bring problems to PC attention so schedules can be adjusted and customers notified.
  • Review dispatch list, machine load, and w/c load reports as required.
  • Schedule personnel based on current work load and skill availability to best utilize skills and machines.
  • Coordinate activities between shifts.
  • Coordinate various activities between work centers.
  • Anticipate and maintain production supplies, wheels, tooling, tools, etc.
  • Monitor daily/weekly individual productivity and take appropriate action when required.
  • Maintain productivity including control over diverted direct, set up, and supplies
  • Monitor and direct all rework. Notify Manufacturing Manager of cause for rework.
  • Inform Director of Manufacturing of down machines.
  • Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Various projects as directed by Manufacturing Manager.

Project Functions:
  • Complete supervisory accident report within 24 hours of an accident.
  • Responsible for all ISO manuals and procedures relevant to manufacturing.
  • Recommend weekly overtime requirements by individual.
  • Identify and correct disciplinary infractions and notify Director of Manufacturing
  • Responsible for training new employees or employees transferred into work centers.
  • Responsible for efficient operation of assigned work centers.

Responsible to manage employees engaged in various manufacturing activities. Hire, train, assist employees, enforce company policies, establish performance standards, and evaluate employee status.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: College degree or equivalent industrial experience

EXPERIENCE: 5 years of experience in machining or grinding in a manufacturing environment

SKILLS: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
