As a Director, Mobile Mortgage & Broker Sales:

You will report to the Vice President, Retail Product & Support. You will support Meridian's ambitions related to the profitable growth of the residential mortgage portfolio, and auto lending portfolio, through strong leadership of your teams, presence in the communities in which we operate, and partnership with internal functions. Through your expert knowledge of the mortgage industry, key markets, and technical expertise, you will help your teams drive origination growth through our retail products including but no limited to, High Ratio Mortgages, Conventional Financing, Construction, and Home Equity Line of Credit Mortgages.

What you will do:

Drive Lending Growth

  • Lead a sales team that will execute and exceed current year plan for Broker/Mobile Mortgage, and Auto Lending targets.
  • Manage operational performance and offers informed insights with benchmarked metrics.
  • Drive talent development, team scaling and leadership mentoring to build high-performing mobile mortgage, broker, and auto lending teams.
  • Develop the Mobile Sales and Revenue targets.
  • Connect with internal and external partners to meet and exceed business objectives.
  • Achieve plan volumes, cross sell and portfolio risk by strategic market ensuring achievement of specific business. development goals while controlling risk, expenses and maintaining revenues to plan.
  • Participate in the annual planning and target setting process.
  • Provide monthly reporting to the VP, Product and Operations, on progress towards the achievement of performance goals.


Member Experience

  • Lead a Mobile team that delivers an exceptional Member experience and offers insights to continually improve the Member Experience.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end Mobile Member contact processes and their associated Member experience, supporting cross company initiatives to drive improvements, improve efficiency and reduce concerns.
  • Apply best practices, develop continuous improvement plans and make recommendations based upon the employee and Member insights.
  • Develop plans and offer insight and knowledge to the organization on the use of new tools and technologies.
  • Support the ongoing development of broker loans origination system (Trellis ) and support overall third party origination processes including determining appropriate upgrades, workflow solutions and reporting requirements.
  • Act as the Voice of the Mobile Member, championing change and improvements across the Member experience, drive change and influence future change/projects to support and achieve improvements in the Member experience.


Strategic Initiatives

  • In close collaboration with the VP, support, build, and drive execution of the channel strategy.
  • Ensure scorecards and compensation programs reflect the outcomes Meridian wants to achieve.
  • Provide guidance and support of the development of programs including assessment and implementation of related technology portals, development of performance management systems and reporting for the Mobile Experience team, programs to support branch activities and Mobile Experience related collateral materials.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on competitive market intelligence, market situations, Mobile Experience needs, interests and trends.
  • In partnership with our internal Marketing group, continuously upgrade our Marketing material to ensure brokers and other new channels are aware of Meridian's most current product offers.
  • Liaise with Personal Lending ensuring effectiveness of all Mobile Experience originated business.


DriveOn Vehicle Financing Program

  • Provide Leadership and coaching to direct reports, in conjunction with direction from Credit Union Dealer Financing (CUDF), to achieve assigned business results.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled joint meetings to discuss sales strategies and coordinate ongoing activities to support overall business objectives.
  • Work with Meridian internal corporate departments to ensure all aspects of funded loans meet risk/compliance and recovery standards.
  • Quarterly, prepare a Meridian Management report for the ONCUDF board.


Virtual Financial Service Associates (VFSA)

  • Provide Leadership and coaching to direct reports to achieve set goals and initiatives to support new broker mortgage originations.
  • Coordinate processes with broker underwriting and operations processing to create a seamless broker deal transfer to VFSA group.
  • Develop SLA, SOP metrics to strive for an exceptional Member experience.
  • Involve Retail leadership regularly on new broker Member processes and how branches are involved in the transfer of the new broker Member experience.


How you will succeed:

  • 5-7 years experience as a leader of Mobile Mortgage / Mortgage Broker teams, with considerable Retail Sales Leadership experience as well.
  • In-depth experience in Real Estate Lending in the mortgage industry, and extensive knowledge of mortgage underwriting, retail banking and credit adjudication.
  • Post Secondary Education preferable in Finance or Business Administration.
  • Track record of developing Mobile Experience strategies, and creating business plans and implementation plans.
  • Sales oriented and Member focused, with the enthusiasm and tenacity to motivate self to meet and exceed goals and provide the right solutions.
  • Strong background in Product Marketing, sufficient to be able to create product offers and create support materials.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop plans and recommendations that support the achievement of Meridian's strategic objectives.
  • Proven track record of bringing new ideas forward, while staying on top of trends in the marketplace.
  • Strong partner orientation with the ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels within the organization and externally.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and plan workloads to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Effective leadership and analytical skills including working knowledge of financial budget analysis, staffing models, scheduling, and telecom opportunities.
  • Exceptional ability to develop and manage results-oriented recruiting and training programs.
  • Demonstrated project management skills sufficient to lead and manage projects.
  • Strong organizational time management skills; strong problem solving skills; strong ability to grasp concepts and processes; ability to partner and influence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Established network of COI's is an asset.


Join us! This role is a remote-home office role. However, travel will be required across Ontario to meet with your respective teams, internal & external partners. Some collaboration in office may be required at 3780 Bloor St W, Etobicoke, and 75 Corporate Park Dr, St. Catharines.
