As a Substation Electrical Engineer I-II at Milhouse, you will play a key role in deliverying high-quality, innovative solutions for power and utility infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to the design, analysis, and implementation of substation systems that support a more resilient and efficient power grid. **Please note this role will follow our hybrid schedule of 4 days in-office at our downtown Chicago office or our Lombard office.

What you will do:
    • Design to client and regulatory requirements per the direction of your Project Management team.
    • Support the development ofP&C one line diagram, AC/DC schematics, control panel layout and wiring diagram, station service AC/DC distribution diagram, bill of material, cable schedule, etc.
    • Develop and maintain project documentation regarding protection and control design and construction.
    • Schedule and budget variances in a timely manner.
    • Creating and enforcing project quality plan.
    • Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality.
    • Vendor drawing review and disposition.
    • Maintaining project files.
    • Data and document entry into various platforms.
    • Assist management as directed.


What we are looking for:
    • Proven ability to consistently produce high quality of work.
    • Ability to consistently work independently.
    • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
    • Understanding of CAD software.
    • Ability to estimate, plan, and schedule substation projects.
    • Familiarity with applicable IEEE/EIC codes and standards.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel as well as ACAD or Micro Station and Revit.


Your background:
    • 0 - 5 years of protection & control / substation design engineering experience.
    • Bachelors of Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution.


$75,200 - $113,200 a year

The actual base pay depends upon many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
