Job Description

The successful candidate will play a key role in integrating new technologies and processes to support ongoing manufacturing technology development with new factory automation technologies and mobility solutions (Autonomus Mobile Robot, Autonomus Vehicle Marshalling). This includes defining requirements, coordinating pilots and proofs-of-concept (POCs), and ensuring compliance with existing and future standards and architectures.

This position will leverage expertise in machine controls integration, IIoT, and advanced safety systems to meet the increasing demand for data collection, real-time feedback, and data-driven operational strategies.

The role requires deep expertise in interpreting and applying evolving standards and regulations for factory automation. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies, specifications, and guidelines to ensure compliance and drive global standardization efforts.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on factory automation (software, hardware, advanced safety, IIoT) for various engineering teams (VOME, PTME, IT, etc.)
  • Develop and integrate advanced controls technologies into process innovation solutions
  • Maintain a current library of all international regulatory standards that effect Factory Automation and Advanced Safety Systems Integration
  • Provide technical input to MTD Forums to assess new manufacturing technologies for Factory Automation and Advanced Safety Systems Integration
  • Lead advanced technology projects in the Global Manufacturing Technology Development portfolio


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Considerable experience in Factory Automation, Industrial Controls Software, Harwdare, Advanced Safety, IIoT
  • Minimum 5 years (10 preferred) of experience delivering control systems manufacturing environments and automation
  • Extensive experience in Factory Automation, Industrial Controls Software, Hardware, Advanced Safety, IIoT
  • Working level expertise in automation technologies
  • Demonstrated contributions to Global Manufacturing Technology Development projects
  • Knowledge of Automation/Electrical /Controls/ IT Systems/Networking and relevant regulatory specifications
  • Demonstrated capability in Factory Automation, Industrial Controls Software, Hardware, Advanced Safety, IIoT systems skills with a record of delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve cost, functionality, and strategic outcomes through system design/standards changes
  • Recognized "go-to" resource for Factory Automation and Advanced Safety Systems Integration concerns
  • Ability to share best practices and mentor others across the enterprise.
  • Provden leadership abilities demonstrated in the following areas:
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, professionalism demeanor
    • Proven ability and willingness to teach/coach/mentor others
    • Demonstrated systemic thinking skills
    • Ability to take initiative and provide technical leadership to drive continuous improvement
