About the Role:

The Vice President of Solutions is the leader of the Solutions development team and a senior leadership member of the Solutions and Growth group. The Solutions team is responsible for developing the requirements and competitive solution concepts for various types of DC design and Supply Chain projects. The VP of Solutions will work closely with the VPs of Engineering, Project Delivery, and Project Management to ensure our customers have the best experience in the industry on every project and engagement. Working directly for the EVP of Solutions & Growth, this role will support the development of DCS's growth through strategic initiatives, acquisition of new customers, championing our groups' process development and team compliance, and improving upon all aspects of our business within your influence.

About the Team:

The solutions design team at DCS is responsible for developing and delivering a wide variety of competitive concept solutions and consulting engagements across multiple industries and verticals. This team will engage in projects ranging from DC design to Operations Improvements, Assessments, and System Evaluations for both Parcel and D&F channels.

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as leadership and mentorship for key customer SMEs during system evaluations working closely with internal and external teams to drive value in the customer related objectives.
  • Leads a team of Directors, Managers, Resource Managers, and/or individual contributors
  • Design, orchestrate and cascade the vision, mission, and strategy for the organization.
  • Use effective communication practices to motivate, generate commitment and passion towards organizational goals.
  • Develop and mentor people across the company, and coach your managers to do the same.
  • Ensure accountability for results amongst all team members.
  • Ensure a successor for all critical roles to enable responsible growth.
  • Understand and monitor employee engagement factors.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver/train presentations to clients and/or industry conferences
  • Provide system and solutions feedback (assist in guiding the client with best practices and system optimization)
  • Lead teams that evaluate and apply technologies (ex. AMR, robotics, and advanced technology) to integrate these technologies into competitive concept solutions.
  • Provide industry solutions guidance to the Sales teams for sales strategies and Key account plans.
  • Champion the internal processes to ensure consistent practices across the Solutions design teams.
  • All other duties assigned by the EVP of Solutions and Growth.
  • Travel onsite as needed for project activities (25-60%)


We're Excited About You Because:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar
  • 20+ years full time experience working in supply chain related industries
  • Function as an expert on Solutions Consulting - specific, specialized tasks effectively using the necessary process, tools and operational processes and coach others to maximize usage.
  • Leads a team of Directors, Managers, Resource Managers, and/or individual contributors
  • Design, orchestrate and cascade the vision, mission, and strategy for the organization.
  • Use storytelling to generate commitment and passion towards organizational goals.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meeting as well as team meetings on a regular cadence.
  • Proficient with Power BI, MS Access, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project
  • Partner with peers and strategize with leaders across multiple functions within the org.
  • Anticipate issues and obstacles proactively, address and resolve basic conflicts, and engage in productive dialogue to mitigate conflicting views.
  • Determine key milestones and provide updates and check-ins to relevant teams and partners.
  • Lead and direct group conversations around complex problems, goals, and ideas.
