Data Warehouse Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Data Warehouse Architect to support our Data Warehouse team in the development of federal reporting, ad-hoc requests, ETL processes, and Business Objects reports. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing key application reports such as NYTD, AFCARS, and NCANDS. The ideal candidate will also assist in other data integration and warehouse initiatives that provide strategic value to the Department and empower end users to make informed decisions through accessible, accurate data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with full-time employees, contract staff, and SACWIS/CCWIS system developers to ensure data availability and integration with the Data Warehouse.
• Design and load the Data Warehouse data model to support reporting and analytics needs.
• Adapt and update the Data Warehouse structure in alignment with evolving operational SACWIS/CCWIS systems.
• Communicate and coordinate with State and contract staff to ensure understanding and sustainability of the Data Warehouse environment.
• Develop business intelligence applications, reporting dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Design, implement, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data migration from operational systems to the Data Warehouse.
• Work with federal reporting teams and end users to improve and optimize database queries.
• Provide technical training, support, and documentation for developers and end users.
• Offer one-on-one support for federal data reporting and ad-hoc query needs.
• Conduct training sessions on the use of Teradata and BI tools to maximize reporting capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Teradata Cloud (version 17.20 preferred).
• 3+ years of experience working with Business Objects XI 4.2 SP4 and/or Power BI.
• 3+ years of experience performing ETL processes in a Data Warehouse environment.
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse modeling, data integration, and data architecture principles.
• Experience in supporting federal data reporting initiatives such as NYTD, AFCARS, and NCANDS.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments and teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working within a government or public sector data environment, particularly involving SACWIS/CCWIS systems.
• Familiarity with Windows 2012 virtual platforms and shared data environments.
• Experience providing training or workshops on BI tools and query development.
