Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). We are looking for the founding Business Intelligence Engineer in Kuiper Global Demand Planning (GDP) team to build process, data assets and dashboards that will support Kuiper's Demand Science & Forecasting models and capacity planning & simulation systems. You will be working with Kuiper Data Scientists, Economists, Data Engineers and Tech Business Development partners and be primarily responsible to design and implement production level ETL pipelines to translate machine generated and user provided inputs into short/mid range Forecasts for Kuiper Demand for Bandwidth and Devices. You will be responsible to implement best practices for timely and efficient publish Forecasting Datasets to Kuiper's internal database, catalog and production systems.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Participate in the full development life cycle, end-to-end for Forecasting ETL pipelines, from design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery, support, and maintenance to publish weekly Bandwidth Demand and CT forecast for Short to Medium range (0-24 Months)
- Work alongside Data Scientists, Economists, Data and Simulation Engineers to develop appropriate data assets for statistical modeling, system integration and capacity simulations
- Implement data governance best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security and privacy regulations.
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate processes to generate structured datasets for forecasting POR and system inputs, with focus on efficiency and scalability
- Develop, maintain and update Demand Intelligence Dashboard(s) to facilitate GTM/Demand/Financial Planning

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
