Position Overview:
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing quality improvement initiatives across the hospital and outpatient services in a critical access hospital located in rural Southeast Washington. This role will focus on driving excellence in quality, infection control, employee health and wellness, patient safety, accreditation, and regulatory compliance. The Quality Manager will collaborate closely with the medical staff, department heads, and external regulatory agencies to ensure that the highest standards of care are met while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements.

A Day in the Life:
- Oversee the hospital's quality improvement, infection control, employee health and wellness programs, and patient safety initiatives.
- Monitor and track clinical performance indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead efforts for accreditation and regulatory response, including preparation for surveys, audits, and inspections.
- Develop and implement quality improvement plans, policies, and procedures across hospital and outpatient services.
- Ensure that patient safety and clinical protocols are consistently followed and updated as needed.
- Provide education and training to hospital staff on quality, safety, and infection control procedures.
- Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff to analyze clinical data and implement corrective actions to improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accreditation standards, infection control guidelines, and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and submit reports on quality improvement initiatives to the Quality Resources Director and relevant external agencies.
- Participate in hospital committees and task forces related to quality, safety, and compliance.
About You!
This Job is For You if You Have:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in healthcare settings, including experience in quality management or patient safety.
- Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is preferred or must be obtained within a set timeframe upon hiring. Strong knowledge of clinical quality management, patient safety protocols, and infection control standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments and teams.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to resolve complex issues while maintaining patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
A Wow if You Have:
- Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
- Previous experience in a critical access hospital setting.
- Familiarity with accreditation bodies such as The Joint Commission or CMS.
