Who You Are and the Impact You Will Have:

The Director, Reporting & Data Governance will oversee the Data Governance, Reporting, and Integration teams, taking full ownership of the development and implementation of the organization's Data Governance and Data Management program. This role is critical for providing strategic leadership and direction across enterprise-wide data governance, reporting, and integration efforts. The Director will focus on establishing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with an enterprise data governance framework and technology stack.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead and drive the establishment of a comprehensive Data Governance Program, including the implementation of data governance initiatives across the organization.
  • Develop the enterprise data governance structure, establishing a governance committee, defining roles, responsibilities, and decision rights, and ensuring data is treated as a valuable asset.
  • Define the system of record for each data element, resolving discrepancies and establishing a single source of truth through collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Implement best practices for data management, including the manipulation, capture, and governance of data.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and various business and support teams across the global enterprise to address complex data governance projects.
  • Partner with Business and IT stakeholders to develop and maintain a Data Governance Roadmap, including a comprehensive Data Quality Framework and Information Model.
  • Facilitate open communication between teams, ensuring alignment on strategies, priorities, and issues.
  • Clearly define and communicate roles and responsibilities for Data Governance across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure data ownership and quality and work closely with Argo's CISO to safeguard data security.
  • Drive organizational change related to data usage, promoting the vision of data as a strategic asset.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Data Architect to ensure consistent data quality control and optimization across the enterprise's EDW.


What You Will Need to be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or a minimum of 10 years of equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Data Governance leadership role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Master Data Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry preferred.
  • Proven credibility with both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage resources outside of direct control to achieve objectives.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operational processes, data, and systems.
  • Proven experience in establishing a data governance practice.
  • Experience with one or more data governance tools.
