MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Nursing, Public Health Administration, or closely related field.
- Seven years of progressively responsible and effective work experience in school health, community health, pediatric nursing, or closely related experience.
- Demonstrated experience with a track record of successful management of multiple business/department functions and staff .
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida.
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or entity approved by the Florida Department of Health.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Three years of clinical leadership in a K-12 education system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local statutes, laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and current research-based best practices governing public education and the functional area of assignment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with industry-standard computer applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the School Health Services Program in accordance with state regulatory guidelines, state statutes, and School Board Policy.
- Develop and monitor health policies, guidelines, and procedures, which ensure compliance with federal and state mandates and School Board policies.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to school nurses that facilitate the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to students.
- Develop and maintain an electronic library of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure individual school compliance with School Nursing Professional Standards, state and federal mandates, immunization and physical evaluation requirements, health screenings, disease outbreaks, emergency preparedness, medication administration, and health clinics.
- Prepare reports, audits, and program documentation required by the Florida Department of Health and the Florida Department of Education.

- Advise school nurses and school administrators on the development and implementation of Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and 504 Plans or Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for students with health and nursing service needs.
- Represent the district and collaborate with medical leaders, community groups, agencies, and professional organizations to meet students' health needs and improve the quality of services.
- Organize and provide professional development opportunities for school nurses, other school health personnel, and District staff, both independently and through collaboration with an oversight of the District Health Services program.
- Develop and disseminate information to nurses, District personnel, parents, and community representatives regarding the health and wellness of school children.
- Maintain the School Health electronic medical documentation program.
- Oversee the Student Health Services budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for medical supplies, staffing, equipment and programs.
- Administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed for illness, injury, or life-threatening emergencies per certification training guidelines.
- Perform Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities as directed in accordance with Chapter 3 of the federally approved School District Administrative Claiming (SDAC) Guide.
