Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior IT Manager with deep expertise in eCommerce, Microservices, Spring Boot, API development, and Cloud Transformation to lead the development of our Unified Commerce Platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will focus on building scalable, domain-driven microservices, enabling omnichannel commerce capabilities, and working closely with product teams to drive innovation.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on technical leader with expertise in cloud-native architectures, API-first development, and scalable commerce platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, business leaders, and engineering teams to deliver a high-performance, resilient, and feature-rich Unified Commerce ecosystem, ensuring a seamless customer experience across online, mobile, and in-store channels.
Additionally, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and coaching engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy & Unified Commerce Platform Development
- Define and execute a technology roadmap to build a Unified Commerce Platform that seamlessly integrates eCommerce, mobile, in-store, and third-party marketplace experiences.
- Architect and implement domain-driven microservices to support commerce functions like search, product catalog, cart, checkout, order management, payments, loyalty programs, and customer personalization.
- Drive adoption of headless commerce, API-first, and event-driven architectures to enable agility and scalability.
- Partner with product teams to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performance commerce services.
- Microservices Architecture & Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Lead the design, development, and management of microservices across various commerce domains.
- Implement scalable, event-driven microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies.
- Optimize commerce workflows using GCP services such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Spanner, Firestore, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery.
- Define domain boundaries and ownership, ensuring that microservices are modular, loosely coupled, and independently deployable.
- Establish best practices for API design, service discovery, versioning, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure seamless integration with ERP, CRM, third-party APIs, POS systems, and payment gateways.
- Team Leadership, Mentoring & Agile Execution
- Build and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Act as a mentor and coach for engineers, helping them grow their skills in microservices architecture, API design, and Unified Commerce solutions.
- Conduct regular knowledge-sharing sessions, technical training, and hands-on workshops to upskill the team.
- Implement Agile (Scrum, SAFe) best practices to ensure efficient delivery cycles.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
- Stakeholder & Product Collaboration
- Work closely with product teams, UX designers, and business analysts to build features that enhance the customer journey.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring that commerce services align with company goals.
- Provide technical leadership in architectural discussions, ensuring scalability and maintainability of the platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive customer-centric innovations and data-driven decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years managing large-scale eCommerce platforms.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design patterns.
- Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying large-scale, cloud-native Unified Commerce applications.
- Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Kafka, and microservices architecture.
- Strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with hands-on expertise in:
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Cloud Functions
- Cloud Spanner, Firestore, BigQuery, Pub/Sub
- Experience in domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven architectures, and API-first development.
- Deep understanding of headless commerce, eCommerce platforms, and API-based integrations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience mentoring and upskilling engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Oracle ATG transformation and migration to microservices-based Unified Commerce platforms.
- Strong expertise in building service-oriented architectures (SOA) and API-driven commerce solutions.
- Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) system integration and omnichannel commerce platform management.
- Hands-on experience in building omnichannel commerce capabilities, including seamless integration of web, mobile, in-store, and marketplace commerce experiences.
- Proven expertise in order management systems (OMS), fulfillment, and real-time inventory synchronization.
