Salary / Hourly Rate: $250,000 - $300,000 / year

Job Summary:

The Medical Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing both the clinical and operational aspects of our outpatient primary care services. This includes directly managing a team of physicians and advanced practitioners-leading recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance management. The Medical Director also works closely with administrative leadership to guide quality improvement efforts, implement clinical best practices, and ensure efficient care delivery that meets both patient needs and organizational goals.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of physicians and advanced practitioners
  • Oversee provider recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and clinical training
  • Monitor provider performance and deliver ongoing feedback and coaching
  • Provide hands-on clinical leadership and oversight for daily operations
  • Collaborate with administrative leadership to align clinical care with business objectives
  • Develop and implement evidence-based protocols and performance benchmarks
  • Drive initiatives for quality assurance, patient safety, and clinical compliance
  • Contribute to strategic planning, resource management, and operational workflow design
  • Maintain strong communication between clinical and non-clinical departments
  • Foster a team culture that emphasizes accountability, empathy, and excellence
Prerequisites / License & Certification Requirements:
  • Active Arizona MD or DO License
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Director in an outpatient primary care setting or equivalent leadership role with the listed responsibilities
  • Board certification or Eligibility in a primary care specialty preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive performance improvement
