The salary range for this role is:
$64,718.69 - $106,763.83

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a meticulous and results-driven Production Planning Specialist to join our team in a dynamic food manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, this role is pivotal in coordinating production schedules, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring seamless communication across departments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining operational efficiency. Responsibilities include scheduling raw product deliveries, preparing production plans, advising on crewing requirements, and developing critical reports to support plant and corporate management. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, effective communication with diverse stakeholders, and a commitment to continuous improvement in production planning and execution.
  • Coordinate production requirements to meet marketing demands.
  • Advise Human Resources Department of Plant daily crewing requirements.
  • Schedule and monitor raw product deliveries.
  • Develop reports needed for production and plant management.
  • Update and maintain information systems with production plans.
  • Prepare Plant production schedules to meet corporate Supply Planning requirements for fresh pack, reman, and indirect production.
  • Work with corporate Supply Planning to optimize production plans and minimize carrying inventory.
  • Update and maintain production plans by SKU in BPCS and other systems as necessary.
  • Communicate with Plant and warehouse personnel to coordinate fresh, reman, and indirect production.
  • Maintain the Fruit Production Model for scheduling fresh pack and reman production.
  • Continually communicate with the Purchasing Coordinator to assure that all materials and supplies can be available to meet the production schedule.
  • Expedite apricot, peach, pear, and grape deliveries and monitor pear ripening cycles to meet production schedules.
  • Prepare and submit a schedule for raw product delivery (7- and 14-Day Rolling Forecasts) and interface with raw product distribution headquarters.
  • Coordinate deliveries and transfers of raw product.
  • Determine optimum crewing levels and submit daily the crewing requirements for the next production day to the Human Resources Department.
  • Generate reports related to the production process, including but not limited to the Rolling Forecasts, Balance to Pack, Operating and Labeling Instructions, and Indirect requirements.
  • Develop, review, and advise Plant management on cost and capacity studies, and other reports as required.
  • Special Projects as requested by Plant management and corporate.
  • Cross-train with other team members in the department as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in planning/purchasing in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position will be considered.
  • SAP experience.
  • MS Office experience.
  • Strong math and logic skills.
