Description:
Under the general supervision of the Senior Vice President of Payor and Government Affairs, the Vice President of Reimbursement provides financial viability to the hospital, and all related party entities, by instituting strategic initiatives which positions the system to maximize reimbursement opportunities and make appropriate adjustments (e.g., pricing strategies, program development) in response to the federal & state regulatory environment. Oversees reimbursement activities including regulatory compliance, CMS & FHURS cost reporting, government PRICER builds, budgeting, organ acquisition cost-based reimbursement, federal & state graduate medical education (GME) funding, and other supplemental funding mechanisms including, but not limited to, HCHCP-IGT, LIP, Red Light, PMATF, Disproportionate Share, Medicare Bad Debt, Directed Payment Programs (DPP), and Tricare cost reporting. Responsible for coordination and tracking of all ongoing federal and state audits associated with the aforementioned supplemental payment programs. Plans and directs the reimbursement strategy of Tampa General Hospital and its' service lines and affiliates including, but not limited to, Tampa General Medical Group (TGMG), Tampa General Provider Network (TGPN), Tampa General Rehabilitation Hospital (TGRH), Tampa General Behavioral Health Hospital (TGH-BHH), TGH North facilities and other entities as they are added. In coordination with SVP of Payor & Gov't Affairs, monitors and supports all federal & state litigation, administrative judicial reviews, or arbitrations in which a TGH-related entity is involved. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Ten (10) years of hospital/system reimbursement experience.
- Hospital experience includes multiple entity hospital system, either not-for-profit or for-profit. Fifteen (15) years experience if experience does not include that in an academic medical center/system.
- Prior experience with Medicare and FL Medicaid value-based reimbursement models.
- Extensive and complete knowledge of all types of hospital reimbursement systems
- Knowledge of reimbursement issues and ability to defend external audit findings and file appeals as needed
- Knowledge of financial acumen to determine impact of proposed and final state and federal regulations
- Knowledge of financial acumen to perform due diligence reviews for proposed affiliations and acquisitions
- Knowledge to compliantly improve reporting for GME, transplant, supplemental payments, allied health, bad debt, charity/uncompensated care, wage index, occupational mix and hospital outpatient departments
- Skills which prove consistent optimization of reimbursement
- Ability to coordinate and support the reimbursement issues of TGH internal executives
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with government related leadership
- Excellent management ability to coordinate and support diverse reimbursement professionals
