Job Description
- Teach courses in Child, Adolescent and Advocacy Studies.
- Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
- Advising and providing support for CAAS students.
- Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
- Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
- Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
- Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.
- Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
Salary Range: $64,066 (Asst) - $186,015; Commensurate with Rank and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Earned doctoral degree from a regionally accredited university
- Two (2) years applied experience working with children and families
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualification
- Post-graduate training including coursework, workshops, and seminars
- Experience teaching online courses at the college level
- Experience with provision of child and/or family services (e.g. education, therapy (OT, SLP), counseling, advocacy)
- Experience with providing Child Protective Services and/or Foster Care
- Experience in child and family advocacy
- Experience with children from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented populations
- Experience working with children who have experienced trauma (ex: child sexual abuse, maltreatment, foster children)
- Relevant teaching experience at the college level
- Research experience and agenda relevant to child advocacy
- Experience with scholarly productivity or ability to demonstrate potential in this area
- Experience working collaboratively with community-based organizations, school districts and/or the broader community or the ability to demonstrate potential in this area
- Ability to use classroom technology and innovative teaching methods
- Possess and demonstrate knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations
- Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching
- Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching
