WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE, Days

  • No Telework

  • 8am-4pm, M-F.

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Provide innovative professional architecture and interior design solutions for a wide range of internally funded renovation projects at Harborview Medical Center (HMC). This position will be responsible for developing, designing, rendering and drafting projects as assigned.

  • Direct and oversee the interior design work of consulting architects and interior designers for Harborview's capital projects as assigned.

  • Participate in design meetings with design and construction teams. Review and provide design direction based on institutional needs that meet project goals and objectives.

  • Communicate project updates on interior focused priority projects to various constituent groups including senior management, department managers, staff, and faculty.

  • Update, coordinate and maintain Harborview's Interior Finishes and Furnishing Standards. Work within various entities at Harborview to select materials and finishes that are appropriate for the environment, align with sustainability goals and meet code compliance.

  • Provide owner representative guidance in the development of interior solutions, finishes and furnishing standards for the King County Harborview Bond projects. These new standards and finish guidelines are expected to merge with the Harborview Medical Center Campus Finish Standards.

  • Coordinate and consult with Harborview's Facilities Maintenance Division and support staff regarding interior design and finish solutions.

  • Coordinate Harborview's art program with 4Culture and other resource organizations.

  • Lead and facilitate Harborview's Design Review Board, which oversees the condition of public spaces throughout the medical center, to foster positive experiences that promote healing and wellness.

  • Stay up to date with industry standards, best practices, codes and regulations as they relate to campus projects.

  • Lead the Design Shared Services team including a Space Manager, Signage-Facilities Planner, Drafting Tech and Interiors Construction Project Manager.

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interior Design degree from a CIDA accredited program or an Architecture degree (Master's or Bachelor's)

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Interior Design and/or Interior Architecture

  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare specific design experience required. Mix of outpatient and inpatient acute care preferred

  • NCIDQ certification required

  • Architectural licensure preferred

  • LEED certification preferred

  • 10 years or more of professional experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Cloud, and MS Office

  • Familiarity with Building Codes and Department of Health guidelines (FGI and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code) preferred
