We have an opportunity for aCloud Engineer, prefer candidates to reside in Melbourne, FL but open to remote work in the following states: Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Minnesota (MN), North Carolina (NC), Ohio (OH), South Carolina (SC), Tennessee (TN), Texas (TX) or Virginia (VA). Note: Relocation expenses are not covered by the employer/client. We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with a solid foundation in cloud infrastructure, large-scale data processing, and government-sector experience. This role will play a vital part in building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud environments, supporting data-driven initiatives, and ensuring compliance with federal and industry standards.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to support large-scale data processing and analytics workflows
- Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and software engineers to ensure seamless data integration, storage, and retrieval
- Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of cloud resources
- Implement and monitor security, access controls, and compliance protocols in accordance with government standards
- Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of cloud-native services
- Troubleshoot issues across cloud platforms and ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Document cloud architecture, procedures, and configurations clearly and concisely
- Additional responsibilities as the manager/PM or client request
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a Cloud Engineer or similar role
- Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience working with large datasets in cloud environments (e.g., using EMR, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar tools)
- Familiarity with government security standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST)
- Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, and DevOps practices
- Proficiency with scripting or automation languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team
- Experience supporting federal, state, or local government contracts
- Background in big data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Databricks)
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Professional Engineer) (Preferred)
- Ability to acquire a Secret Security clearance and acquire and maintain government identification/common access card (CAC). Preferred if candidates currently hold an active Secret Security Clearance or higher
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract. Note that any usage and detection of cannabis with or without a prescription will result in a failed clearance regardless of the legalization under State Laws.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field.
Additional Provisions:
- Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
- Cannot have more than 6 months' travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
