We are seeking a Total Rewards Compensation Specialist to join our team on a 12-month contract basis in any of our offices.

The Total Rewards Compensation Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the organization's compensation programs are competitive, equitable, compliant with relevant legislation and aligned with business goals. This position involves analyzing market trends, evaluating internal pay practices, maintaining the firm's pay equity program, and providing actionable insights to support the development and administration of compensation policies and practices. This role will also be responsible for job evaluation and maintaining the job architecture. Compensation reporting and analytics will also be a key responsibility.

Liaising with the Total Rewards team and colleagues in Talent and Professional Resources, they will be responsible for the administration of the firm's compensation programs, as well as acting as the subject matter expert and advising on best practices and the firm's compensation philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation Administration

  • Lead the annual compensation cycle process including being responsible for all aspects of the delivery of annual salary increases and bonus processes, including building the annual timeline and communications.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of base pay structures and incentive programs.
  • Analyze compensation trends and recommend adjustments to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Conduct market research and salary benchmarking using a variety of sources, including surveys to ensure competitive and compliant pay practices.
  • Perform job evaluations and maintain the job architecture, including advising on appropriate job titles and classification.
  • Maintain and update the organization's job classification system.


Reporting and Analytics

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and materials for presentations on compensation data and resulting recommendations and insights.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting of compensation-related data required for decision making.
  • Analyze and interpret compensation market data into actionable insights.
  • Support the firm's annual headcount and salaries budget process.


Policy and Compliance

  • Support and develop processes designed to ensure compliance with pay equity and pay transparency legislation.
  • Maintain and update compensation related policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, advising on the application of the firm's compensation philosophy in day to day decisions to ensure fairness, equity and program governance.


Special Projects

  • Support the implementation, management and optimization of an HCM compensation module.
  • Support or lead total rewards projects as required.


What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
  • CPP designation or other related accreditation is an asset;
  • 3-5 years of experience in compensation;
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in MS Excel;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving;
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
  • General knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems, experience with Dayforce is an asset;
  • Adept at managing sensitive and confidential data;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to uphold the highest ethical standards of practice and professionalism.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive total rewards package with the expected range of the annual salary to be between $73,183 to $101,108.

The final salary is influenced by the location of the incumbent and may fluctuate based on the qualifications, skills, and market considerations, ensuring alignment with internal and external pay equity standards.
