Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the analysis of production processes, material requirements, and labor costs to develop accurate production cost estimates for new and existing products.
  • Develop, support, and maintain a cost estimation database / software system to track and update production cost estimates for different products and production scenarios
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary information and data to create cost estimates, including product specifications, production plans, and bill of materials.
  • Conduct and support comprehensive cost analyses for various production scenarios, including cost breakdowns for raw materials, labor, equipment, overhead, and other production expenses.
  • Evaluate and recommend cost-effective manufacturing methods, processes, and materials to optimize production costs without compromising quality or customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure cost estimation database contains the latest pricing information for materials, supplies, and labor per Crown's ERP system.
  • Conduct training on cost estimation processes including software systems used to support cost estimates for different products and production scenarios.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, cost models, and best practices in production cost estimation to continuously enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of cost estimation processes.


Qualifications:

  • 16+ years related experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in cost estimation techniques, tools, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific cost estimation standards and practices.
  • Experience with software setup for virtual manufacturing development.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to train others is required
  • Must be able to lead and execute small teams and projects.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have valid driving privileges
  • Occasional travel (0-5%)
  • Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four-year engineering degree with three years of work experience, a two-year engineering degree with five years of work experience, or no degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
