Pharmacy Operations Director

We are seeking a dedicated Operations Director for an LTC Pharmacy located in Deerfield Beach, Florida. This position does not require a Pharmacist background, and is primarily Monday through Friday day shift.

• Directs, supervises, and administers all pharmacy activities including, but not limited to all medication dispensing, inventory control, product selection and purchasing, staffing, review performances, planning, and staff assignments.
• Assist the Director of Quality Assurance with monitoring of the quality of pharmacy programs.
• Coordinates Order Entry, Fill Technicians, and Staff Pharmacist workflow and scheduling to assure quality of care.
• Coordinates care for residents between the pharmacy staff with the facility nursing, medical, and administrative staff.
• Coordinates with the Director of Quality Assurance and Retention to develop, implement, monitor new pharmacy policy and procedures. Reviews and rewrites existing policy and procedures.
• Provides drug information and educational programs to facility nursing and medical staff.
• Oversees and develops training for pharmacy staff regarding policies and procedures in the pharmacy.
• Provides consultation on clinical and technical, and monitors therapies, total parenteral nutrition, antibiotics, pain management, and all other modalities of treatment.
• Performs staff pharmacist duties when necessary.
• Coordinates with pharmacy staff to insure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy including compliance with all 797 Compounding Rules.
• Plans future development of pharmacy including, but not limited to, new business, services, automation, and technological changes.
• Assist in the orientation and training for all new administrative and clinical personnel.
• Compounds and dispenses at the pharmacy as necessary.
• Assures that the pharmacy staffing is covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Responsible for supervision and scheduling of all departments including, but not limited to, pharmacist, order
entry, fill technicians, medical records, and billing.
