National Subrogation Services (NSS), a leader in subrogation and recovery solutions, seeks a results-driven Director of Business Development to expand our national footprint across insurers, self-insured entities, TPAs, and affiliated partners. This role will identify and develop strategic relationships and sales opportunities within the insurance ecosystem, showcasing NSS's industry-leading technology, legal insight, and recovery capabilities-including our proprietary SubroSpeed platform.
The Director will spearhead growth of our client base by targeting decision-makers in claims, legal, and risk management functions, highlighting how NSS can drive recoveries, reduce costs, and streamline subrogation processes through customized solutions.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a comprehensive national business development sales strategy to grow NSS's client base in the insurance and risk management sectors.
  • Prospect and build trusted relationships with senior leaders at insurance carriers, self-insured entities, TPAs, and related organizations.
  • Communicate the unique value of NSS's subrogation services, including SubroSpeed, total outsource solutions and specialty recovery programs.
  • Develop customized proposals, RFP responses, and client presentations aligned with prospective client pain points and recovery opportunities.
  • Leverage data, analytics, and case studies to quantify NSS's impact and ROI for prospects.
  • Represent NSS at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
  • Track key performance metrics
  • Collaborate closely with NSS leadership, legal teams, and recovery analysts to stay current on capabilities and market trends.


Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven ability to prospect, engage, and close new business with large insurance companies, self-insured corporations, or third-party administrators.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance claims, subrogation, recovery services, or legal support services.
  • Executive-level communication and consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical and legal solutions in a client-focused, results-driven manner.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with technology-driven service delivery and performance analytics platforms (e.g., SubroSpeed or similar).
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.

Education & Experience
  • 10+ years of business development or strategic sales experience in the insurance, legal services, or claims management industries.
  • 5+ years in a client-facing role at a professional services or legal support firm (experience with subrogation a significant plus).
  • History of meeting/exceeding sales quotas and closing mid- to large-scale service contracts.
  • Experience working with executive teams, claims leadership, and legal departments at companies with $10M-$100M+ in revenue.
