The role...

The Planning Manager is responsible for developing and leveraging our production planning team, systems, and distribution network throughout the Region driving cost savings and supporting sales growth for the organization. As a member of the management team, partner to analyze and prioritize the critical business challenges and the related employee and Supply Chain implications.

How you'll make an impact...
  • Lead by example in a values-based culture, connecting the team to the company's core values and upholding the Weidmann Leadership Principles of Trust, Alignment, Pride, and Accountability.
  • Develop annual budgets for WETI & WTEM focused on Planning personnel, inventory levels, and external warehouse expenses.
  • Coordinate production schedules for WETI & WTEM assets. Plan and prioritize AM Region manufacturing to best optimize production performance while still meeting customer needs.
  • Collaborate and communicate with site leaders and peers to determine manpower, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Provide guidance, insight, tools, and strategy to best allow Production Planners to develop production schedules based on customer demand, customer forecasts, and internal knowledge to best meet customer requirements.
  • Interpret and implement company policies regarding production scheduling to ensure compliance with global standards and regional expectations, supporting TopMES and WPS principles & tools where required.
  • Create a partnership with Operations and Finance to set annual inventory levels and monitor/adjust production plans accordingly to avoid over/under production.
  • Oversee Customer Inventory programs, working as a liaison between Sales and Production to ensure customer-specific program needs are well-defined and supported.
  • Lead, motivate, and direct the AM Region Production Planning & Supply Chain Analysts teams to provide efficient and effective planning solutions. Conduct performance reviews, set goals, administer and communicate development plans and/or discipline.


What do you bring...
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in production planning leadership.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles. Ideally, green-belt certified and demonstrated experience in tools and methodologies.
  • With working knowledge and solid comprehension of MRP/ERP systems, SAP is ideal.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
