Job Description / Essential Elements:
DUTIES: The Director of Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for the development and implementation of all instructional activities and instructional support services. As a member of the Education Services Team, the Director works collaboratively with other members of the Team to formulate and implement District policies and Division priorities. Directs the development and implementation of curriculum, instruction, and staff development; plans and coordinates District staff development for certificated and classified; leads, facilitates, and coordinates core curricular and instructional cadres/task; oversees procedures for staff responsible for screening, selection, procurement, and distribution of basic, supplemental and library instructional materials; collaborates with appropriate staff to develop, publish and monitor standards-based report cards, handbooks, guides, and other related documents; works closely with other Education Services staff in development of Local Control Accountability Plan; assists principals in development and alignment of individual school instructional/pupil achievement plans; attends and participates in Education Services meetings and pertinent district, county, and state workshops and meetings; stays current with curricular/instructional research and materials through a variety of activities; performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid California Administrative Services Credential; Master's degree in education or related field preferred; five years of successful teaching or related experience; five years of successful school site or District level administration experience; experience working with diverse student and community populations; valid California Driver's License; effective use of English language in both written and verbal forms.

Other Compensation:
- 2% stipend of base salary compensation for master's degree.
- 3% stipend of base salary compensation for doctorate.
- A portion of yearly ACSA and professional membership dues are provided.
- Dental, and vision benefit plan is provided to the employee and eligible family members.
- 1.5% of base, mileage allotment.
- 50,000 life insurance policy.
*Purchase of medical benefits through the District's medical benefits program through a 125 Plan and medical coverage is required while employed by the District. Dental, and vision benefit plan is provided to the employee and eligible family members.
