About the role:

The Director, Global Technical Equipment leads the in-house manufacturing, maintenance, inventory management, and global deployment of PixMob gear and transmission equipment. This role ensures operational excellence, scalability, and quality while supporting world-class live events. The director will oversee a workforce of full-time and contractual employees, scaling resources as needed based on project volume and complexity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical operations, manufacturing, and logistics, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Team & Resource Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of technicians and operational staff to ensure productivity and collaboration.
  • Oversee a workforce that includes both full-time and contract employees, adjusting labor resources efficiently based on project demand, seasonal fluctuations, and operational priorities.
  • Establish and maintain clear performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence by providing training, support, and career development opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure smooth product development, testing, and deployment.

In-House Manufacturing:
  • Direct the in-house manufacturing of PixMob's proprietary gear and technical equipment, ensuring high-quality production that meets technical requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage Bill of Materials (BOMs), labor costs, and material sourcing to optimize production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve process flow, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to scale operations effectively while maintaining product integrity.
  • Ensure all products undergo thorough quality control checks before deployment to minimize defects and maintain reliability in live event environments.

Equipment Management & Maintenance:
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system to monitor all PixMob gear, ensuring accurate inventory counts, location tracking, and asset condition monitoring.
  • Implement proactive and preventive maintenance programs and conduct routine inspections to maximize equipment lifespan and reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly, working with both internal teams and external vendors as necessary.
  • Establish clear repair and replacement protocols to ensure the readiness of all technical equipment for upcoming projects and events.

Global Project & Event Support and Fulfillment:
  • Collaborate closely with show and event production teams to define and fulfill technical equipment requirements for global events.
  • Ensure PixMob gear and deployment strategies align with industry standards, technical specifications, and customer expectations.
  • Oversee logistics planning for the shipment, installation, and on-site technical support of equipment, ensuring smooth execution at events worldwide.
  • Develop contingency plans and risk assessments to mitigate potential challenges in high-pressure live event environments.

Collaboration with R&D:
  • Partner with the R&D team to facilitate the smooth transition of new product designs from prototyping to full-scale production.
  • Provide critical feedback on product performance, usability, and manufacturability to drive improvements in existing and future products.
  • Support testing and validation efforts to ensure products meet industry regulations, technical standards, and real-world performance expectations.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new manufacturing techniques, materials, and technologies to enhance PixMob's product offerings.

Inventory & Budget Management:
  • Develop and execute inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels while preventing shortages or excess.
  • Implement rigorous inventory tracking and auditing processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee capital budget planning, ensuring cost-effective investments in materials, equipment, and infrastructure to support growth.
  • Work with finance and procurement teams to negotiate favorable supplier terms, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maximize budget efficiency.


Qualifications & Experience:
  • Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Operations, Supply Chain Management, a College degree in Stage Technique or any related field.;
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in technical equipment management, manufacturing, logistics, or operations within the entertainment, technology, or event production industries.
  • 5 to 8 years of leadership experience managing technical teams and large-scale operational projects.
  • Deep knowledge of lighting, transmission equipment, and control systems, with a focus on durability and reliability in live event settings.
  • Strong understanding of global supply chain, logistics, and fulfillment processes.
  • Strong understanding of the entertainment industry

  • Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English). The person must be able to communicate in English (written and oral) since we have employees outside Quebec.
