Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Operations, the Sr. Product Content Writer is responsible for crafting clear, accurate, and professional release notes, how-to guides, and other customer-facing documentation that supports our Lyric HCM product from pre-existing content. You will work closely with the product team, engineers and client success teams to ensure users are equipped with the knowledge they need to confidently use our product.

This position is best suited for candidates who have a strong background in technical writing or product-related content creation. The Sr. Product Content Writer would ideally have strong knowledge of Human Capital Management Systems (HCM) but this is not required. The ideal candidate would have an interest in understanding the product functionality.

What You Can Expect On a Typical Day

• Edit and manage release notes that clearly and concisely communicate new features and enhancements to HCM practitioners. Ensure consistency in voice, tone, terminology, and style.
• Manage updates and changes until release notes are delivered to clients.
• Work closely with product teams to gather information and ensure the accuracy of release notes.
• Manage the overall release notes process and maintain a release notes editorial calendar.
• Gather feedback on release notes to improve future releases.
• Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) and attend product demos or sprint reviews to gather technical information.
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to integrate contextual help and in-app guidance into the product.
• Ensure documentation is aligned with release schedules and updated on time for each product launch.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

• 3+ years of experience as a technical writer, instructional writer, product documentation specialist in a software as a service (SaaS) or enterprise software environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for detail. Familiarity with AP style, JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
• Proven ability to explain complex workflows and configurations in plain, user-friendly language.
• Willingness to learn Agile software development cycles and version control workflows.
• Experience in managing content creation workflows and teams.
• Strong organizational, cross-functional collaboration and project management skills.
• Willingness to learn product management function and operational best practices.
• Experience with HCM system is preferred.
