As part of the Architectural Solutions team, you will play a key consultative role working with key accounts to "Build Better" high performing and sustainable buildings. Working in partnership with building science, you will use insights and consultative services, to create demand and position CertainTeed as the preferred choice among owners, architects, general contractors and sub-contractors. We need someone who is customer -centric, a strong leader of a talented team, innovative, strategic, driven, tenacious and disciplined with a positive attitude. Working autonomously and developing partnerships will be the key to success in this role.

This role requires a strong network within the architectural and design community in BC in addition to a key understanding of key stakeholders in the industry.

Business Development and Specification:
  • Engage with Architects, designers and spec writers to promote and specify CertainTeed IPG offer as trusted solutions for their projects.
  • Provide technical insights to support specification and secure product inclusion in project designs.
  • Track specified projects through the bidding and tender process to ensure a seamless transition to the supply chain.
  • Identify and develop accounts and plans in key markets with early-stage influence over multiple projects.
  • Ensure and maintain project pipeline for the assigned territory and drive "must win" projects.
  • Develop solutions/services-based relationships to influence and enhance the design, construction and utilization of current and future CT products within projects.
  • Identify & qualify projects early in the design phase and provide multi-product solutions ensuring to thoroughly research and assess potential construction activities and overall project profitability.
  • Identify territory/regional requirements (Building codes, Sustainability requirements, etc.) and provide resources to support these requirements across CertainTeed and Saint-Gobain products.

Distributor Management:
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with key distributors to facilitate smooth product supply and inventory management.
  • Conduct regular distributor training to ensure familiarity with product applications, features, and project specifications.
  • Ensure that distributors are equipped to fulfill product supply needs for specified projects efficiently.
  • Conduct regular project tracking meetings to follow up on the pipeline and close the loop on the work done in early stages.

Relationship Building with Contractors:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key contractors across BC.
  • Organize and conduct product training sessions and industry events to showcase product capabilities.
  • Act as a resource for troubleshooting and guidance on complex jobs.

Leadership and Pipeline management:
  • Works collaboratively with the local team to deliver sales growth and sustained demand.
  • Meets Performance Objectives and Incentive Sales Goals as determined by management.
  • Utilize CRM to manage relationships, track project pipelines, and support territory growth.
  • Build effective reporting to provide insights on pipeline progress, account activity, and market opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all projects, accounts, and distributor interactions to ensure clear visibility across the team.
  • Utilize a well-established network to expand the reach and influence of our product line.

What do you bring?
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in architectural technology or building science, marketing or similar discipline or equivalent experience, combined with five years of equivalent experience in a previous technical sales position.
  • 5+ years of applied professional experience which includes managing customer relationships, sales presentations, and closings of sales.
  • Proven ability to specify products with design firms.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build quality relationships through networking.
  • Excellent presentation skills with good written and oral communication
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction processes.
  • Certified Technical Representative (CTR) by Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) is an asset
  • Knowledge of building codes and product standards.
  • Mastery of the office suite and use of CRM
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 18% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $100 000 to $127 000.
