Job Summary
The Senior or Principal Environmental Specialist will lead initiatives to enhance the Corporation's environmental compliance with a strong focus on air quality management and advanced enterprise IT solutions. This position integrates environmental compliance obligations through the strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), along with water and waste compliance programs. The role requires deep collaboration across Environmental Affairs, Plant Operations, IT, Capital Projects, and external partners to optimize regulatory compliance systems with robust technological architectures. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic understanding of air compliance regulations coupled with advanced technical expertise in IT system planning, integration, and cybersecurity.

Job Duties
- Drive the strategic planning, implementation, and lifecycle management of environmental enterprise systems, emphasizing air compliance through CEMS.
- Ensure robust compliance with air quality regulations via the integration and management of CEMS and related enterprise IT solutions. Oversee water and waste compliance systems as part of a holistic environmental strategy.
- Provide technical leadership in CEMS implementation and operation, including regulatory compliance with EPA, EPD, 40CFR75, and 40CFR60 frameworks.
- Develop and execute business risk mitigation strategies associated with air-focused regulatory programs, working closely with internal teams and external industry stakeholders.
- Facilitate cybersecurity protocols and authorized access management within environmental compliance systems, ensuring alignment with corporate cybersecurity policies.
- Collaborate with facility associates to deliver training on air compliance systems, including CEMS operations, regulatory standards, and associated technologies.
- Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes related to air quality compliance, enterprise IT systems, and environmental regulations, ensuring the organization remains ahead of potential challenges.
- Manage consultant and contractor relationships to support system implementations, CEMS troubleshooting, and operational optimization.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, IT, or a related discipline, with a strong emphasis on air quality management and technological expertise.
Experience
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in environmental compliance or enterprise system management, including air quality regulations and the operation of CEMS.
- Significant experience with enterprise environmental compliance systems, emphasizing air monitoring, IT integration, and cybersecurity management.
Specialized Skills
- Advanced proficiency with CEMS software/hardware (StackVision, QAInsight, etc.) and related technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of air quality regulatory frameworks, including EPA, EPD, 40CFR75, and 40CFR60.
- Robust expertise in IT infrastructure, network architecture, database administration, and cybersecurity frameworks (CIP).
- Exceptional communication, analytical, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on air quality and compliance systems.
