Job Description: The Director of Federal Field Sales will lead a team of remote field sellers focused on driving sales growth within federal government accounts. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader with deep expertise in managing field sales operations, understanding program business, and developing sales strategies tailored to the unique purchasing processes of federal agencies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing growth strategies, optimizing sales processes, and ensuring the team meets revenue targets through effective account management and business development initiatives.
Required Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with general computer skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present via video and voice conferencing tools.
- Experience with CRM and sales analytics tools to drive data-driven decision-making.
Required Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal field sales, field management, or related activities.
- Proven leadership experience managing remote field sales teams.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; significant experience and a strong track record of success may be considered in lieu of a degree.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a remote team effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and engage with senior executives.
- Deep understanding of federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and program business.
- Demonstrated success in business development, territory planning, and sales execution.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess sales trends and drive strategic decision-making.
- Established relationships within the federal market, including government agencies and system integrators.
- Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and drive long-term account growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee a team of remote federal field sales representatives, ensuring alignment with company sales objectives.
- Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to federal agencies, system integrators, and related partners.
- Identifies individual account strengths and weaknesses and implement appropriate action plans.
- Identify and influence customer decision makers.
- Drives sales team to achieve business results through mentorship, coaching, development, establishing goals and leadership.
- Identify and pursue key contract opportunities within federal accounts to drive revenue growth.
- Foster relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to leverage programs and pricing structures effectively.
- Monitor and manage the pipeline, ensuring consistent and accurate sales forecasting.
- Work closely with internal teams, including sales operations, marketing, and product teams, to support field sales efforts.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance management for the field sales team.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and contract requirements in all sales activities.
- Communicate key performance metrics and strategic insights to senior leadership.
- Continuously refine sales processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the federal sector.
