Phoenix Processor LP, headquartered in Seattle, WA, has managed at-sea fish processing operations since 1988. We are known for producing high-quality seafood products and proudly serve domestic and international markets.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and manage accounting staff for Phoenix Processor LP and its sales partner, Premier Pacific Seafoods. Working closely with the CFO, this role will focus on process execution and improvement, efficiency optimization, and ensuring data accuracy. Primary Responsibilities
Perform monthly reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and analyses.
Prepare and manage intercompany accounting and invoicing across subsidiaries.
Demonstrated accrual and tax basis accounting experience, debits/credits, period cut-off, city/state/federal tax filings, and closing processes.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing deliverables and communicating risks and controls.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies with customers, partners, and vendors.
Prepare journal entries for depreciation, accrued transactions, and corrections.
Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts and post transactions as required.
Manage cash reporting and oversee fixed assets, depreciation, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll processes, and reports.
Process sales invoices generated by the sales team, maintaining related schedules.
Maintain accounting procedures, document management software, and internal controls.
Analyze financial information, generate accurate reports, and assist in annual audits.
Support the CFO with various tasks and initiatives.
Requirements
Demonstrated success in senior accounting or full-charge bookkeeping (3-5 years).
Preferred experience with Sage Business/300 software.
Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking with logic-driven decision-making.
Proficiency in GAAP and tax basis accounting for accurate financial reporting.
Outstanding organizational and administrative skills with a strong ability to meet deadlines.
Adaptability to evolving responsibilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Prior experience with payroll processing and tax filings at city, state, and federal levels.
Self-starter with a focus on process improvement and multitasking.
Customer-service oriented approach to vessel crew support.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent professional experience.
CPA designation preferred but not required.
