POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for providing oversight/direct supervision of sales staff focusing on new business growth and customer retention. Coordinates with upper management to assist in developing the strategic plan and budget for the agency. Works with various banking units to maintain flow of new business referrals. Responsible for the new business and retention results and sales activities of the personal, employee benefit, small commercial and large commercial sales departments.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Responsible for the leadership and training of assigned staff of direct reports and dotted line reports.
  • Partners with the Agency President and other line of business managers to develop and structure a highly effective and skilled insurance team.
  • Responsible for mastering and developing, but not limited to, the following areas:
  • Agency Operations, Agency Accounting, Carrier Relations, Succession and Talent Planning, Insurance and Bank Compliance.
  • Provides reports as needed to document results.
  • Continually review workflows for efficiency and consistency.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the position.
  • Responsible for the oversight of all compliance training related to the position.
  • Must understand all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and comply with the requirements.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
  • Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years or more commercial insurance experience preferred.
  • Prior sales, sales management and supervisory experience required.
  • Insurance Agency Ownership or Management Experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Experience with Applied EPIC agency management platform preferred.
  • Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.
  • Great communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Customer service oriented.

EDUCATIONBachelor's Degree preferred.

LICENSESProperty & Casualty, Life and Health license required.

CERTIFICATIONSInsurance Industry Designations including but not limited to CIC, CRM, AAI, ARM, CPCU preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSAbility to travel to all locations as well as ability to travel overnight, as needed for meetings, projects, seminars, etc.
