Job Description

The main responsibilities of the Claim Director, Financial Lines will be to handle high-severity liability claims in the following lines of business: Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Employment Practices, Cyber, Transactional Risk, Fidelity, and Fiduciary.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Handle various high-severity Financial Lines claims from initial notice to resolution while adhering to Chubb's Best Practices.
  • Provide superior customer service and build and maintain excellent business relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct coverage reviews and issue coverage positions.
  • Engage in proactive investigations and demonstrate a clear resolution strategy.
  • Secure and review all supporting documentation including expert reports and legal opinions.
  • Assess loss documentation and its impact on the quantum of the claim.
  • Provide timely reporting of large losses to management and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain accurate and timely reserves.
  • Manage the use, work product, and expenses of outside vendors, including lawyers and other experts. Ensure compliance with litigation cost management guidelines and Chubb's e-billing system.
  • Participate in mediations and meetings with the insured, defense counsel and broker.
  • Maintain an active diary and adhere to file reporting requirements.
  • Regularly meet with clients to review claims processes.
  • Partner with underwriters on claims issues, such as providing claims data, and marketing initiatives.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.


Qualifications

  • Completion of University degree/College diploma and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of insurance industry experience.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
  • Completion of AMF is an asset.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for evaluating, analyzing and interpreting information.
  • Demonstrated exceptional organizational, problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of litigation management strategies.
  • Capable of working in a very busy and collaborative fashion, with a wide spectrum of people.
  • Must possess an aptitude for technical, detail-oriented work.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
