The main responsibilities of the Claim Director, Financial Lines will be to handle high-severity liability claims in the following lines of business: Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Employment Practices, Cyber, Transactional Risk, Fidelity, and Fiduciary.

The main responsibilities of the Claim Director, Financial Lines will be to handle high-severity liability claims in the following lines of business: Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Employment Practices, Cyber, Transactional Risk, Fidelity, and Fiduciary.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle various high-severity Financial Lines claims from initial notice to resolution while adhering to Chubb's Best Practices.
- Provide superior customer service and build and maintain excellent business relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Conduct coverage reviews and issue coverage positions.
- Engage in proactive investigations and demonstrate a clear resolution strategy.
- Secure and review all supporting documentation including expert reports and legal opinions.
- Assess loss documentation and its impact on the quantum of the claim.
- Provide timely reporting of large losses to management and other stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain accurate and timely reserves.
- Manage the use, work product, and expenses of outside vendors, including lawyers and other experts. Ensure compliance with litigation cost management guidelines and Chubb's e-billing system.
- Participate in mediations and meetings with the insured, defense counsel and broker.
- Maintain an active diary and adhere to file reporting requirements.
- Regularly meet with clients to review claims processes.
- Partner with underwriters on claims issues, such as providing claims data, and marketing initiatives.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of University degree/College diploma and/or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of insurance industry experience.
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
- Completion of AMF is an asset.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude for evaluating, analyzing and interpreting information.
- Demonstrated exceptional organizational, problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent knowledge of litigation management strategies.
- Capable of working in a very busy and collaborative fashion, with a wide spectrum of people.
- Must possess an aptitude for technical, detail-oriented work.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
