Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Lead technical design, integration, risk retirement as an RF subject matter expert.
- Guide technical teams through delivery of complex RF assemblies and sub-systems with quality and reliability, in accordance with project schedules.
- Own RF subsystem Advanced Technology strategy and roadmap. Collaborate with technical team to generate meaningful Intellectual Property.
- Update knowledge and skills in order to keep up with advancements in MR, RF technologies. Identify opportunities to develop solutions that providing a competitive advantage / differentiation.
- Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.
- Provide technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process.
- Model, build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with simulation.
- Engage in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support.
- Own product quality through lifecycle: guide team through investigation and mitigation of quality and install base issues. Proactively identify quality improvements to build into new designs.
Qualifications/Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or similar with at least 10 years of RF design experience & 10 years of MR engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering multiple RF assemblies
- Familiarity with MR physics and MR system architecture
- Technical leadership experience - delivery of project(s) as lead with focused technical team with challenging technical goals & timelines
- Demonstrated experience in ADS simulation/modeling tool
- Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.
- Experience with typical related electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc
Desired Characteristics
- Masters degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar
- 15+ years relevant work experience
- Demonstrated Intellectual Property and Advance Technology Development ownership in MRI domain
- Background in MRI research and technologies of interest to researchers
- Engineering and integration experience spanning multiple subsystems & technology domains (ex: surface coils, high power RF, low power RF, digital, etc)
- Experience in Matlab
- Proficiency in mixed-signal designs
- Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
- Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
- Experienced in developing project plans and estimates
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- EMC compatible design/solution experience
- Design for Reliability and Manufacturability experience
- Working knowledge of GEHC tools and processes EQPM, MyWorkshop, Cadence
- DFSS or Green Belt/Black Belt Certified (Six Sigma Design/Quality)
