Description
This position will offer you the opportunity to provide valuable input into nuclear power plant engineering and nuclear licensing deliverables in support of the development, licensing, design, and/or modification of new and existing nuclear power plants. Primary focus will be on the development of new advanced small modular reactor projects including feasibility studies, siting studies, technology assessments, emergency plans, and NRC license applications. This position mixes high-level, client-focused project consulting with detail-oriented, data-driven engineering analysis.

This position mixes high-level, client-focused project consulting with detail-oriented, data-driven engineering analysis.
- Develop engineering reports and studies in support of new nuclear projects.
- Coordinate with discipline subject matter expertise to solicit input for engineering reports.
- Manage tasks to ensure project execution including budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Provide quantitative and qualitative insight into the current advanced reactor offerings on the market.
- Read and interpret NRC regulations, regulatory guides, and industry guidelines.
- Analyze issues and provide solutions to improve results.
- Develop and implement engineering and project management solutions meeting client goals in compliance with contract scope, time, and budgetary requirements.
- Prepare and/or review reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner meeting client and Sargent & Lundy.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as required.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest engineering trends and technologies.
- Participate in professional development and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and bids.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
- BS from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- 3 or more years of experience in a the nuclear energy field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong and dynamic written, verbal and interdisciplinary communication skills.
- Experience with preparing and presenting technical reports virtually and in-person.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft software and tools.
- Strong commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- EIT accreditation.
- Experience with nuclear reactor technologies.
- Experience with 10 CFR 50 and 10 CFR 52 reactor licensing.
- Experience with nuclear operations and emergency response planning.
- Experience with developing Microsoft PowerBi, Power Automate, PowerApps, or other programming capabilities.
