Description:
The Senior Superintendent - Hotel Renovations reports to the Vice President of Construction and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel renovation and remodeling project(s), ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to guests and operations. This role combines deep construction knowledge with an understanding of hospitality operations, coordinating with contractors, designers, engineers, and hotel management to deliver high-quality results that enhance the guest experience and asset value.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day field operations of hotel renovation projects, including room remodels, public area upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure strict adherence to construction schedules, quality standards, safety protocols, and design specifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Coordination & Communication:
- Act as the primary liaison between ownership, hotel operations, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and consultants.
- Coordinate renovation activities to minimize disruption to guests and hotel operations-often working in occupied spaces or during phased construction.
- Participate in project planning meetings and regularly report progress, issues, and solutions.
Quality & Compliance:
- Inspect work for quality assurance and ensure compliance with building codes, ADA regulations, brand standards, and safety regulations.
- Implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain timelines and standards.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise onsite construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration on the job site.
Budget & Materials Management:
- Work closely with project managers to monitor budgets, control costs, and track procurement of materials and equipment.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, change orders, and project documentation.
Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation:
- Anticipate project risks and develop contingency plans to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Resolve on-site issues swiftly to ensure uninterrupted project momentum.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in commercial construction or renovations, with at least 5 years in hospitality renovation projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing in active hotel environments.
- Proven leadership managing multi-phase renovations with tight timelines and high guest-impact considerations.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project), Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
