The Zone Manager is responsible for achieving sales and trade spending objectives in assigned zone in support of strategic growth plans for Foodservice distributors and operators. Responsible for key, complex accounts that are aligned with strategic goals. The Zone Manager will manage approximately eight Area Managers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage Area Managers, distributors and agencies (as assigned) to attain top line through fact based planning, identifying insights and using gap analysis on Wells manufactured products to attain top and bottom line sales results.
- Conduct monthly business reviews with Area Managers using Wells analytics tools to achieve goals within each market.
- Manage and analyze sales forecast, P&L & trade funds to align within annual targets and coordinate with segment and distribution teams to achieve goals.
- Lead sales agency (as assigned) to support in identifying targets and managing regional objectives to attain annual volume goals.
- Work with Distribution and Segment personnel to coordinate and execute strategies that support annual sales goal. Communicate specific initiatives (Sysco, USF, PFS, GPOs) to the sales teams and hold them accountable for results.
- Use the Wells sales process and tools to identify key operator targets within specific markets and work with Area Managers to develop plans to secure new business or expand portfolio within existing key customers.
- Work with cross functional support teams to attain key plan metrics such as total volume, profitability, pricing structure, forecasting, local/regional trade spend.
- Use corporate strategic direction to lead growth with local distributors and contract management companies to attain corporate objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
- 8 to 10 years of proven Sales and Leadership experience
- Intimate knowledge of Foodservice industry; ice cream, novelty and total frozen desserts preferred
- Strong influential communication, including negotiations and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of interpersonal skills to help foster and develop relationships that will continue to help grow the business base and create opportunities for future growth.
- Insight Driven Selling, Negotiations, Consultative Selling, etc. Problem solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task within a broad scope of responsibility and a fast-paced environment.
