We are currently seeking a Project VPM Manager (Vendor Process Management) to join our team based in Houston, TX.
About the Job
- Work independently to write estimate plans, provide estimate status reports, prepare cost estimates, pricing analyses, and revenue calculations for estimates of all sizes and complexities in the energy industry.
- Lead a team of 3-6 estimators to produce a mega size Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) estimate.
- Typical project types include Engineering Studies, Process Design Packages (PDP), Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), Basic Design Packages (BDP), Detailed Engineering & Procurement (EP), and Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) efforts as well as Open Book Estimate (OBE) Conversions to Class 2 Estimate Bids.
- Responsible for the schedule and work hours spent to complete estimates.
- Mentor other estimators directly and indirectly.
- Supervise other estimators when preparing small and medium size estimates and when preparing change order estimates.
- Lead department improvement initiatives such as historical data, tools, template development, procedures, guidelines, and work methods.
- Lead reviews of mega projects with department managers and company executive management.
- Lead client estimate reviews for estimates of all sizes and complexities.
- Lead JV / Consortium partner estimate reviews for estimates of all sizes and complexities.

About You

- Self-motivated and detail oriented professional
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under time pressure
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Advanced skills with MS Excel software
- Advanced skills with MS PowerPoint software
- Significant experience with Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE) software
- Significant experience benchmarking and indexing ACCE database
- Experience with in-house or third-party estimating software
- Working knowledge of the work process for key departments providing estimate input (construction, subcontracts, procurement, engineering, finance, insurance, tax, logistics, human resources, etc.)
- Significant experience leading a team of estimating professionals
- Significant experience preparing AACE Class 4 and 5 (Factored and Order of Magnitude) estimates
- Significant experience leading preparation of AACE Class 1, 2, and 3 Detailed estimates
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Significant experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more estimating disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, professional services)
