Job Title: Manager, Quality Assurance

Job Status: Full-time

Job Summary: Under limited direction from a senior level manager, the Manager of Quality Assurance uses specialized knowledge in health care administration and skills obtained through experience, specialized training, or certification to coordinate, interpret, and implement quality assurance standards in the Community Health and Research Center (CHRC) to ensure quality and appropriate care to patients. Employee reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing policies and procedures and interviews personnel and patients to evaluate the effectiveness of the quality assurance program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interpret, formulate, and maintain quality assurance programs and perform quality assurance reviews designed to ensure quality services consistent with national (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities - CARF) industry standards, and compliance and state regulations
Conduct utilization reviews, productivity and policy analyses using statistical process methods
Consistently review agency policy and ensure consistency in implementation
Analyze and track productivity and performance charges and reimbursement levels consistently assessing ways to improve the financial position of department
Collaborate with auditors on accreditation and compliance related audits
Prepare regular reporting based on organization and grant related requirements
Prepare and present technical and program information and other training programs designed to educate staff on quality standards and requirements
Prepare and monitors department budget and ensure operation within budgetary constraints
Plan, assign, monitor and manage the work of others
Review performance and evaluate results achieved by subordinates
Supervise, coach and mentor subordinates
Interpret, apply, and recommend changes to organizational policies and procedures
Review progress of assignments with senior management
Balance conflicting resource and priority demands
Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to senior management
Maintain currency in quality assurance standards including national standards, compliance, and state regulations
Follow the funding sources requirements and CARF standards applicable to the services provided
Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Advanced concepts, principles and practices of national and state compliance and quality assurance standards
Intermediate concepts, principles, and practices of health care law
Advanced concepts, principles, and practices of qualitative analysis techniques
Principles and practices of supervision

Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
Minimum Degree Required:
o Master's degree
Required Disciplines:
o Science or Public Health Administration or related field

At least 5 years of health care administration experience or any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources

Working Conditions:

Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be required

Travel Required: None generally required, some local traveling may be required.
