About This Role
Newmont is seeking aSpecialist, Process Control to lead the development, governance, and implementation of global process control standards and optimization strategies. As a key technical expert within the Process Control and Operational Intelligence team, you will serve as a point of escalation for complex control challenges and provide strategic oversight to ensure engineering excellence, global consistency, and continuous improvement across Newmont's operations.

This position is based at Newmont's Denver Corporate Office and offers a hybrid work model (combination of remote and office-based work). Flexibility in working hours is required to support global collaboration across different time zones.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $110,160 - 144,585. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.

- Lead the identification, design, and governance of advanced process control and automation strategies across Newmont sites.
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex process control issues, modeling, tuning, and optimization challenges.
- Support the central process control engineering teams by reviewing and advising on proposed design solutions.
- Facilitate, update, and enforce global technical standards and governance related to process control and automation systems.
- Conduct post-implementation audits to ensure best practice adherence and consistent application of standards.
- Develop and maintain a global library of best-practice process control solutions.
- Build and maintain the global skills and competencies framework for process control roles; audit annual skills assessments.
- Deliver training and lead knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate team capabilities.
- Represent Newmont in industry forums to stay current with trends and promote Newmont's leadership in process control excellence.
Your Training, Skills, and Experience Checklist
What We're Looking For
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Process Control, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in process control engineering or process optimization.
- Prior site-based experience in plant operations and optimization.
- Global or multi-region exposure (e.g., North America, South America, Africa) is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Expert knowledge of process control systems including Yokogawa Centum, Emerson Delta-V, and Allen-Bradley Rockwell PLCs.
- Familiarity with advanced control solutions such as Yokogawa PACE and Rockwell Pavilion.
- Skilled in analyzing process data using tools like Plant Historians and Excel.
Leadership Competencies:
- Ability to coach, mentor, and influence engineering teams across regions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and drive compliance with global standards.
