The Regional Business Director (RBD) is a dynamic sales leader responsible for driving performance, inspiring a high-achieving regional team, and executing a strategic vision in the institutional healthcare market. This role requires deep expertise in navigating complex sales channels, including Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), wholesalers, launch products, and the buy-and-bill landscape. The RBD will work cross-functionally to align sales execution with broader commercial strategies, ensuring sustained success in a competitive environment

Essential Functions:
  • Drive Sales Performance - Ensure the region meets or exceeds sales targets and other key performance indicators. Cultivate strong partnerships with key decision-makers in health systems, GPOs, and other institutional stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution - Develop and implement sales strategies that align with corporate objectives, leveraging insights from institutional customers and market trends. Gather field insights to shape commercial strategy, training programs, and execution plans. Establish mechanisms to track regional performance, optimize resource allocation, and ensure data-driven decision-making
  • Coaching & Leadership - Maximize organizational talent. Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Develops others. Helps facilitate and support professional development of sales team members to both maximize results and prepare team members for future opportunities within the organization.
  • Hospital System & Market Access Strategies - Support commercial initiatives related to health system engagement, payer dynamics, and distribution strategies. Develops a process to obtain timely and informative field insights that influence marketing strategy and training plans.
  • Works in close partnership with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Contracting, Data Analytics, Operations, Medical, Regulatory, Customer Service, Finance and Human Resources to meet timelines and optimize business outcomes. Ensure all business activities align with corporate policies, industry regulations, and the highest ethical standards. Lead with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in all interactions.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ability to travel requires attendance at business meetings, time in the field with sales team, medical conferences or working with key customers. Anticipated travel: 50-60%
  • To perform the essential functions of this job, candidates may be required to register with government authorities and complete trainings as well as credentialing with industry services, which may require specific background screens, drug testing and/or proof of certain vaccinations.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Business or relevant degree - Required
  • Master Degree (MBA) - Preferred

Experience:
  • 12 years or more in Pharmaceutical sales/ marketing or life science experience
  • 2 years or more in Direct management experience

Specialized Knowledge:
  • Experience with biologics, expensive therapies, or injectables
  • Prior success in launching new products, with a preference for candidates who have led launches in institutional settings.
  • Experience managing partnerships and collaborations is a plus
  • Ability to manage multi-state geographies effectively
