General Purpose

Conducts analysis through research, gathering and interpretation of data, development of alternatives and recommendations. Presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement selected alternative. Researches, analyzes, and implements new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex assignments lacking precedent and requiring creativity.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide training and communication of changes in policies and procedures.
  • Provide advice or functional direction, and assume a lead role in the work group.
  • Perform audits and inquiries; assess business issues and risks within the organization.
  • Research and analyze complex data.
  • Report on performance and develop alternatives and recommendations for improvement to management.
  • Lead implementation of selected alternative to various analysis projects.
  • Promote a customer first culture and commit to delivering outstanding results for customers.
  • Conduct analysis through research, gathering, and interpretation of data.
  • Present analysis and recommendations to management and implement selected alternative.
  • Maintain data impacting financial results, including reconciliation with other data sources.
  • Validate California Independent System Operator - Extended Day Ahead Market generation, interties and load resources.
  • Calculate the Net System Load for the PACE balancing authority. Ensure the integrity of jurisdictional loads by state and load profiles, broken out categorically by borderlines, interchanges, losses and generation.
  • Recommend and implement procedural improvements for building monthly loads.
  • Provide recommendations for jurisdictional and meter configuration changes.
  • Reconcile jurisdictional loads against transmission finance and qualifying facility energy purchases.
  • Compare interrogated meter data against multiple sources and validate end-of-hour data in the Energy Accounting System.
  • Analyze energy flow, single line diagrams, and transmission network diagrams, and propose alternate sources of meter data.
  • Generate reports for data requests to meet customer needs.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Physical Sciences or other applicable fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of four years of directly related experience in gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills to compile, analyze, line graph and summarize complex data.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive and complex in nature.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team; ability to present alternatives and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of applicable company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
  • Teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers and management on policy and strategic issues.
  • Proven problem-solving skills


Preferences

  • Knowledge and understanding of the electric utility industry and its regulatory and operating environments.
  • Understanding of FERC requirements.
  • Experience working with energy accounting and meter data.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
