Project Kuiper is seeking a skilled Production Planning and Control (PPC) Manager to oversee the scheduling and execution of satellite production for our Low Earth Orbit constellation project. This role is critical in bridging high-level program schedules with day-to-day production floor operations.

Key job responsibilities

- Creating detailed production schedules that align with plant capacity and product specifications, ensuring efficient workflow and resource utilization using advanced tools like SmartSheet, Microsoft Project, and SAP.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align engineering, manufacturing, and business requirements with production timelines.

- Providing regular reports on production performance, analyzing data to identify trends, and making informed decisions to drive improvements.

- Manage daily work order execution in SAP, optimizing resource allocation and personnel deployment.

- Oversee the transition of designs, processes, and equipment, determining optimal phase-in and phase-out timelines.

- Ensuring the availability of necessary materials and components to meet production demands without overstocking, thereby optimizing inventory costs

- Coordinate with maintenance teams to incorporate equipment downtime and facility upgrades into production schedules.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

A day in the life

A Production Planning and Control (PPC) Manager starts the day by reviewing production schedules, checking raw material availability, and coordinating with procurement. Throughout the day, they monitor production progress, address bottlenecks, and ensure efficient resource utilization while maintaining quality and safety standards. They also analyze performance data, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity. Before the day ends, they update reports, attend meetings, and adjust plans to meet shifting demands.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience

- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
