Job Summary:
This individual will be responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of the US/PR payroll, as well as managing a team of payroll professionals. The manager will ensure that payroll is produced in a timely and accurate manner, and that all payroll processes are compliant with internal SOX controls and external laws and requirements.
The payroll manager will act as the primary contact with the vendor processing team and with various internal business partners to ensure proper payroll processing. This includes, but is not limited to Compensation, Finance, Accounting, Lines of Business, Legal, etc.

$101,250.00 - $146,250.00

Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead error-free processing of payroll for 15+ Sanofi legal entities, including time and attendance, in a timely and accurate manner. Conduct formal review of pre and post-payroll output and take necessary corrective actions to ensure accuracy.
- Manage team members and balance workload appropriately to ensure timely completion of payroll related activities
- Deliver complex payroll entry for international mobility employees, including tax payments and reconciliation in collaboration with preferred vendor.
- Drive payroll year end/year start processes in partnership with the payroll vendor
- Ensure full SOX compliance across all US/PR Payroll related processes
- Drive vendor performance through weekly meetings, pre and post payroll discussions, process reviews
- Enhance ways of working based on new regulations/policies/vendor capability
- Document and implement payroll standard operating procedures
- Respond to and resolve issues regarding the payroll and time management system for employees and managers
- Support third party audit requests as they relate to payroll accounts and remittance
- Create informational updates for inclusion on the payroll portal to ensure messages and aids are relevant and accurate
- Develop document retention process for payroll related materials
- Generate reporting as required for the internal team and the business
- Process reconciliations/funding/invoice processing in an timely manner
Management Responsibility:
- Manage team of US/PR payroll professionals in all aspects of the end to end payroll processing and provide back up support where required
- Act as subject matter expert for payroll processing and legislation
- Develop and communicate the annual payroll calendar
- Create payroll communications from the payroll department for use on payroll portal or direct communication
- Create and maintain strong team spirit and mutual support within the department
About you
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years US/PR payroll experience (Preferred)
- 5 + years tax experience
- 3+ years US/PR payroll manager or leadership experience
- Strong experience with ADP Payroll software (Global view and eTime)
- CPP Accreditation is an asset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Management experience
- Extensive experience with Payroll processing and tax
- Experience with Workday
- High level of technical skills - Advanced MS Excel required
- Solid reconciliation and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
- Strong communication skills - both oral and written
