A leading global manufacturing company is looking to hire a Category Manager for their Procurement team. The Category Manager oversees sourcing activities within the chemicals category with a goal to maximize value, reduce overall costs, and ensure alignment with business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies to optimize value
- Negotiate with suppliers and implement agreements
- Utilize cost models and market intelligence to position the company advantageously in the market
- Collaborate across business units to create and implement procurement strategies for complex spend categories
- Ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies across all sourcing activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry or related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement/sourcing in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience buying chemicals or in similar industry preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to develop and implement effective supplier strategies
